Dr. Hiea Ahmad Mizyed
Educator, Leader, Speaker, Consultant
How can teachers foster problem-solving skills development in the United Arab Emirates? How can we better prepare teachers to cultivate a country that aspires to become a knowledge-based economy?
I have worked with pre-service teachers, in-service teachers, and leaders in the United Arab Emirates to modestly support their understanding of 21st-century pedagogy informed by cognitive science that puts students at the center of their learning.
I also consult for educational organizations, such as Jawaher Education, which specializes in K-16 one-on-one tutoring, on a teaching philosophy grounded in the learning sciences.
My quality educational research and experience comes from being a Johns Hopkins University Alumni with a specialization in Mind, Brain, and Teaching and over 10+ yrs. as an educator in the context of the United Arab Emirates.
Currently, I am an education program lecturer at the largest federal higher education applied institute, Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), in the UAE. I focus on shaping pre-service teachers' pedagogical practices with the aim to modestly support the aspiration of the UAE to become a knowledge-based economy.
